Position Details

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

(May not include all tasks employees may be expected to perform)

• Effectively teach the required curriculum
• Monitor and assess student progress and make adjustments to instruction as necessary
• Work collaboratively with staff, students, parents and administration
• Understand, support and relate appropriately to high school level students
Use differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners

Qualification Requirements

• Applicant must possess a valid Michigan teaching certificate in secondary education and meet the highly

qualified requirements for social studies and/or history.

• Willing to work collaboratively and cooperatively with principal and colleagues
• Ability to efficiently interact with technology
Additional certifications preferred

Education And/Or Experience:

• Successful completion of student teaching
• Additional experiences with high school aged students (coaching, clubs, etc.)
• Knowledge of High School Content Expectations
Knowledge of the diverse needs of adolescent learners

Physical Demands (if applicable):

• Must be able to meet the needs of various levels of students
• Work in the classroom, sitting at a desk, modeling instruction, and move throughout the classroom

supporting student needs.

Ability to use a computer and related software with fingers and repetitive motions.
