POSITION OPENING

Elementary Teacher

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Michigan teaching certificate with elementary education certification.
  • Early childhood focus with a strong English Language Arts skill set.
  • Training/experience with literacy and interventions.
  • Experience with a variety of Assessment tools/Strategies.
  • Meet the definition of a Highly Qualified Teacher per federal regulations.
  • Meet requirements for a background check and fingerprinting.

Job Requirements, Knowledge, and Skills:

A successful candidate will possess:

  • Successful experience working with elementary-age students.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of content expectations/standards pertinent to the grade level.
  • Knowledge of best practices in classroom instruction and technology integration.
  • Experience working as part of a collaborative team.

A successful candidate will be able to:

  • Relate to and instruct children in large groups, small groups, and individualized settings.
  • Develop and use strategies to improve student achievement in all core content areas.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to guide instruction.
  • Effectively utilize classroom discipline strategies while providing positive reinforcement.
  • Contribute to a professional learning team.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure student success and a positive school climate.

Salary: As per negotiated district contract.
