Unique job opportunity for new clinicians

Build and grow a private practice and continue to learn psychodynamic and systemic concepts with an experienced LMFT, PhD who has over 20 years of experience in the field of psychotherapy. Supervision will be once a week for 60 minutes. We will discuss a case in depth and read books and articles on psychoanalytic theory, attachment theory, inner child work and systemic concepts. This will sharpen the clinician’s ability to formulate cases.

This position is for an independent contractor. It is a three year commitment that provides the clinician enough time to build a reliable, stable private practice. Referrals will come from Dr. Martin’s clinical network but the clinician is encouraged to reach out to other colleagues to generate referrals and establish a network. A profile on Psychology Today will be paid for during the three years. The employee will build up a caseload of up to 25 clients and be paid 50% per client. The caseload will consist of individuals, couples and possibly some families. I receive a lot of referrals for couple's counseling so this should be an interest to the job candidate. The employee will have an office separate from Dr. Martin’s and can create a schedule that works best for them. They also can conduct sessions with telehealth.

Requirements:

Completion of a 2 year Master’s Degree from an Accredited Institution in marriage and family therapy or counseling and psychology.

Attainment of first license, LPC or AMFT.

A minimum of TWO years paid work experience. This does not have to be related to the field of counseling and psychology and can consist of more than one job. I am seeking a candidate who has experience and confidence working independently and supporting themselves.

A minimum of one year of weekly psychotherapy.

The ability to be flexible and see clients through telehealth and in the office in Evanston.

Excellent organization skills used to manage staying on top of process notes, associated paperwork, claims, and the collection of payments.

Comfortable working independently and asking for help when needed.

Willing and able to work through potential conflicts with clients and the consultant.
