Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and organized Medical Receptionist to join our team. The Medical Receptionist will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service, managing patient records, and ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk area. The ideal candidate will have experience in a medical office setting and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Register new patients and update existing patient information in the electronic medical records system
- Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate staff members
- Verify insurance coverage and collect necessary co-pays or payments
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow
- Handle patient inquiries and provide accurate information about services offered
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology is required
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems such as AdvancedMD, Athena, or eClinicalWorks is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in using phone systems and other office equipment
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining patient records
