Michaud, Cooley, Erickson & Associates, LLC is Hiring an Electrical - Staff Designer- Low Voltage - Technology Systems Near Minneapolis, MN

Description

Join our team! A Low Voltage Systems Staff Designer works under the direction of a Project Manager, Lead Engineer/Designer on the design for technology systems such as communications & networking, CCTV, distributed antenna, assisted listening, audio & visual, and security & surveillance systems. This person should be able to take tasks and begin to work on them independently under the direction of others.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design and prepare drawings of low voltage systems according the to parameters set by the project manager which include systems design, load calculations, equipment selections, system layouts, technical specifications and schedules.
  • Ability to work and continual to learn within Revit, Bluebeam and BIM modeling programs.
  • Follow established design and drafting standards.
  • Ability to plan effectively to meet project deadlines and quality requirements. 
  • Perform other construction administration activities, including site observation, submittal review and construction phase meetings. 

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or related field. 
  • Previous experience with low voltage technology design preferred.
  • Electrical Engineer, EIT or RCDD certification a plus. 
  • Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite of products/
