Visiting Nurses Home Care is Hiring a Payroll Specialist Near Albany, NY

Visiting Nurses Home Care has an immediate full-time opening for a Payroll Specialist. Working from our Albany office, the payroll specialist will process and maintain all billing records and assist in processing weekly payroll.

Job Functions Include:

  • Gather, enter, and review time from assigned branches within the software to create payroll data and verify visits.
  • Processes weekly payroll for all employees
  • Work exceptions between field staff scheduled and worked time and the associated documentation of visits for assigned branches.
  • Assists in the maintenance and preparation of all payroll and billing records for VNHC employees.
  • Makes follow-up calls and meets as needed with field staff to clarify/correct inaccuracies on timesheets and/or Aide Activity Reports.
  • Enters billing hold releases and Worker Notes for all visits marked as non-billable due to documentation issues.
  • Performs electronic and paper billing functions for weekly and monthly invoicing for assigned payors.
  • Prepares rebilling functions as needed or on a monthly basis for assigned payors.
  • Assists with completion of and provides backup to process billing.
  • Complete tasks associated with department projects/daily operations as requested by the manager.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications Needed:

  • Experience with basic accounting functions and medical billing practices and payroll
  • Must be proficient in working in different computer programs
  • Possess strong organizational and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work well in hard deadline environments
  • Results oriented and possess strong problem-solving skills necessary to achieve agency goals
  • At least one year of experience in billing and/or payroll required
  • A.A.S. in Accounting

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
