Job Description

The GIS Specialist will be responsible for :

  • Create data analyses, data conversions, models and map products to support renewable energy project development.
  • Overall market analysis.
  • Site suitability analysis.
  • Developing and exercising data specific quality control procedures.
  • Optimizing spatial analyses and project work flows.
  • Create and administer geo-databases within the company GIS.
  • Coordinate GIS activities with applications development, programmers and IT system specialists.
  • Establish and monitor cartographic design standards for high quality map production.

The Successful Applicant

The GIS Specialist will have :

  • Relevant degree or certification in GIS or closely-related discipline
  • Minimum of 1 years experience in a GIS focused role at an IPP or Development firm.
  • Passionate about building professional maps through the use of sophisticated GIS software and techniques to support the development of renewable energy projects
  • Demonstrable competency in basic programming related to typical GIS functions
  • Certification or demonstrated ability to design and administer geo-databases and relational databases
  • Ability to work proactively and will full autonomy
