As an experienced Estimator, you will be joining an established General Contracter headquartered in the heart of the Twin-Cities. This individual will be charged with leading the Estimating department, helping grow the department and bringing in new work and more estimators.

Our client is a Commercial General Contractor located out of Minneapolis-Saint Paul looking to add a skilled and experienced Estimator to their team. They are know throughout the industry for investing in their people and attracting, developing and retaining talented professionals. Description

  • Compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements
  • Prepare work to be estimated by gather proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents
  • Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
  • Present prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Perform conceptual, schematic, and design development budgets
  • Review plans for consistency and accuracy
  • Manage all levels of take-offs while applying unit prices
  • Collaborate with others on the preconstruction team to successfully bid jobs
  • Develop into a leader within the estimating team

Profile

  • BS Degree in Construction Management or related field
  • 5 years of estimating or commercial construction management experience
  • Ability to read plans and specifications and perform quantity surveys.
  • Understanding of Construction Systems and CSI codes.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Proficient time management skills with ability to navigate multiple estimate opportunities
  • Proficient with various modern technology platforms
  • Understanding of industry terminology
  • Ability to approach challenges with a problem solving & analytic approach
  • Ability to develop basic value engineering options
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Team oriented; flexible; reliable; professional; enjoys new challenges
  • Willingness to develop relationships with subcontractors, clients, architects and engineers
  • Basic understanding of building codes and ADA laws
