My client is a family owned business that's been around for over 100 years and has sites across the globe. They specialize in manufacturing films, adhesives, and tapes for a wide variety of industries including automotive and consumer goods.

Job Description

In this role you will report directly into the North American President and will:

  • Lead operations in the Americas region, overseeing manufacturing, supply planning, procurement, process engineering, quality, logistics, and maintenance.
  • Cultivate a people-centric, forward-thinking leadership approach, utilizing lean manufacturing expertise to enhance current capabilities.
  • Demonstrate integrity, compassion, and passion as a leader, setting an example for the team.
  • Inspire and evaluate a 100 member team across three shifts, fostering a culture of engagement, teamwork, accountability, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan aligning with corporate objectives to drive future growth.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes, implementing improvements, automation, and lean methodologies to boost efficiency, productivity, and product quality while reducing waste and costs.
  • Advocate for operational excellence, challenging the status quo to enhance overall performance.
  • Ensure a safe work environment and regulatory compliance, leading best practices for safety and maintaining rigorous quality control standards.
  • Develop and implement a manufacturing strategy for the USA, achieving targeted annual productivity improvements.
  • Manage a project pipeline to drive Operational Excellence, Growth, and Productivity.
  • Establish sustainable supply chains between globalized and host sites.
  • Create and document a structured process for assessing the efficiency and effectiveness of operations processes.
  • Drive operational and profitability metrics and analytics to meet financial targets.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to develop an annual manufacturing plan, optimizing resource usage for production and customer delivery requirements.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have:

  • 10 years of manufacturing engineering experience
  • 5 years overseeing 100 employees
  • Experience overseeing multiple sites
  • Complex manufacturing background, high mix preferred
  • Budgeting and P&L skills
  • Lean manufacturing knowledge
  • Fast paced mindset
  • Plastic extrusion experience a plus
  • Union experience a plus
