Job Description

The Construction Estimator will be responsible for :

• Be responsible for reviewing and understanding all aspects of construction documents for Commercial, Academic, Hospitality, Retail, Healthcare markets & more
• Act as a liaison between client and subcontractors to ensure accurate estimates and budgets are provided
• Perform takeoffs and develop conceptual budgets utilizing past data
• Develop, communicate, and understand the company's pricing strategy
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with potential / current clients and subcontractors
• Utilize Construction scheduling software to detail milestones in the pre-construction schedule
• Obtain the best pricing for materials and bids from subcontracts
• Develop and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontracts, etc
• Maintain the Estimating Coordinator to publish RFPs to subcontractor
• Serve as a mentor to Estimating Coordinator(s)

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Construction Estimator will have :

• BS degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related preferred
• 3-5 years of commercial estimating experience with a General Contractor
• Experience estimating commercial construction in one of the following markets (or related) : Academic, Healthcare, Life Science, Hospitality, Retail, etc
• Able to be successful in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work under tight time lines to hit project deadlines
• Experience with Excel, Planswift, Procore, On Screen, and / or Bluebeam
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
