Shipping Supervisor, Distribution

Location : Whittier, CA

Reports to : Sr Manager, Operations

Shift : 1

You are autonomous, reliable, and collaborative. You are a part of the Operations team with responsibility for leading a team, monitoring the workflow of distribution center operations, identifying areas of improvement, and achieving metrics in a fast-paced environment.

What You'll Do :

• Supervise the shipping department throughout a supply chain operation to ensure accurate shipment of merchandise and that the department's metrics are being met.
• Oversee the process for outbound shipments by load, the scanning of all outbound cartons, and ensuring carton counts match system-generated reporting.
• Ensure the product is properly loaded to arrive at customer's distribution center or store in good order.
• Confirm all documentation requirements are correctly completed and submitted to the appropriate department.
• Monitor and maintain processes to ensure excellent process and product quality and maintain accuracy and integrity of inventory.
• Coach team members through troubleshooting and monitor processes, tools, and equipment.
• Responsible for having a full understanding of all aspects of department processes as well as an understanding of all customer expectations.
• Communicate department objectives, metrics, and productivity to team members and peers
• Make necessary adjustments to processes and shift schedules to meet deadlines and adapt to the volume of the business.
• Assist in the selection training of new team members and developing talent.
• Enforce safety standards and policies, maintain records, and partner with appropriate departments when necessary.

You'll Need to Have :

• 3 years of supervisor experience required
• Strong written and verbal skills
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, team-building, and follow-up skills
• Strong computer skills such as WMS, YMS experience, and Microsoft Office
• Available to work flexible and / or extended hours, especially during peak seasons

• Warehouse or distribution experience preferred
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
• Hands-on leader with an entrepreneurial mindset and a passion to develop talent.
• Ability to identify opportunities within processes, resolve conflicts as they arise within the department, and or escalate when necessary.
• Adheres to deadlines and delivers quality work.

Compensation Range :

$72,500.00-$80,000.00
