TITLE: Full-Time Resident Aide 

REPORTS TO: Building Services Coordinator

FLSA STATUS: Non - Exempt

POSITION PURPOSE

The primary purpose of this position is to assist with New Hope Villa property management and supervision of assigned residents in accordance with MVHO policies, philosophy & procedures on his/her designated area. Perform other duties as assigned. 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Supervise and assist residents with personal care as needed. In doing so, help to ensure safety and maximum independence.
  • Assist with the front desk operations at New Hope Villa. Ensure that visitors sign in and out. Watch security cameras for any unexpected occurrences and inform law enforcement or supervisor if any emergencies arise.
  • Monitor tenant behavior and notify case management and/or MVHO of any disturbances or unusual behavior. Keep notes of any occurrences during working hours.
  • Monitor the condition of the building, act as the contact person to receive resident complaints, and complete work orders for any maintenance or custodial needs.
  • Act as the delivery liaison and provide access to and supervision of deliveries and contractors.
  • Assist with property maintenance during inclement weather; to include but not limited to clearing snow and ice from entrances as necessary.
  • See ways to improve the processes and programs at MVHO.

2nd Shift Additional Duties

  • Perform custodial duties to include but not limited to emptying trash, wiping down tables, cleaning glass mirrors and washing laundry on the weekends as needed.

3rd Shift Additional Duties

  • Perform custodial duties to include but not limited to sweeping and mopping TV rooms, break room, hallways, and stairways (railings); cleaning residents and employee restrooms including resident showers, emptying trash receptacles; vacuum all carpets and wash laundry on the weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. High School Diploma or GED. Experience preferred working with the aging and disabled population. Janitorial experience required. Must be able to work 2nd Shift hours, 3rd Shift hours, Weekends, and some major Holidays. Must possess reliable transportation to and from work.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization. Ability to speak effectively before groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages to practical situations. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
