Position: Certified Trauma Registrar

Department: Trauma Program Admin

Shift: Part-Time/ 40 HRS Per Pay Period/ 8AM-4:30PM

Facility: Miami Valley Hospital

The Certified Trauma Registrar identifies, abstracts, enters data and codes trauma patient records using TraumaBase. The registrar has contact with various departments throughout the hospital. The registrar must become knowledgeable in Trauma Registry methodology, case abstraction, data entry, coding and simple ad hoc reporting.

Education

Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED

Licensure/Certification/Registration

CSTR-Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry required

Experience

Minimum Level of Experience Required: No prior job-related work experiencePreferred experience: Knowledge of computerized medical record preferredOther experience requirements: Experience or knowledge in medical terminology and anatomy required. Must be a High School graduate and have one of the following:Business educationAccredited records technicianExperience as health unit coordinatorPrevious registry experience.
