This is routine field work in reading and recording readings of water meters. Employees in this class are responsible for the accurate recordings of water meter readings, maintaining good working relationships with customers, and maintaining their equipment and vehicles in good operating order. Employees may be required to clean out meter boxes and replace, or report upon, broken lids and covers. Extensive walking: assigned meter routes routinely consist of an average of 350 to 400 meters daily. Read meters and record readings electronically.
