Miami Cordage/Florida Wire & Rigging Works is a family owned and operated manufacturer and distributor of fiber and wire rope, custom lifting and boating assemblies, rigging supplies and hardware. We are a busy environment/workplace and are interested in a hardworking and punctual individual to join our shipping department as a driver. A strong work ethic and attention to detail are required.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Operate vehicle safely within DOT regulations which include safe driving, hours of service, inspection and maintenance.
• Load and off-load merchandise to and from the truck
• Pick up and deliver cargo in a safe and efficient manner.
• Inspect the truck for mechanical or safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
• Plan routes in order to meet delivery schedules.
• Report defects, accidents or violations.
• Perform warehouse duties on days where there are no truck deliveries scheduled.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• High School Degree or equivalent.
• Must have the ability to read, write and speak English and Spanish as well as perform simple mathematical calculations with general mental abilities to handle receipts, read maps, road signs, maintain logs, etc.
• No recent moving or driving violations
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc.)
• Must have valid driver’s license.

Familiarity with Miami and Fort Lauderdale
