Position Summary:

MI Metals Maintenace Technician will be responsible for repairs, replacements of our plants equipment and systems, to ensure maximum production, quantity, and quality. The candidate will be expected to help with trouble shooting or problem-solving activities.

Shifts:

1st Shift (M-F 7AM-3PM)

2nd Shift (M-F 3PM-11PM)

3rd Shift (M-F 11pm-7AM)

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical and building components on industrial equipment plant wide and have basic knowledge of PLC’s and controls.
• Read and understand equipment manuals to perform maintenance required.
• Complete multi-craft tasks on all equipment and repair equipment breakdowns in a timely manner.
• Responsible for understanding, comprehending, and implementing company procedures.
• Responsible for the safe output of quality cut-to-length steel.
• Maintain output to production standards while staying within acceptable scrap and rework standards.
• Work in a team-oriented environment with continuous improvement goals of achieving and maintaining an outstanding production facility.
• This position requires continuous work near heat, noise, gas, and chemicals.
• The position requires frequent lifting, climbing, standing, walking, crouching, squatting, bending and kneeling.
• The position may require weekend and/or holiday work
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area, including general housekeeping of the work area after completion of the repair.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Required, Trade School Degree Preferred
• Knowledge of machine functions, equipment safety hazards, power source, stored energy, pinch points, etc.
• Must be proficient in hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, electrical and building maintenance tasks.
• Must also have a basic working knowledge of PLC’s and electrical controls and the ability to troubleshoot and repair as needed.
• Welding and Fabrication experience preferred.

Personal Protective Equipment Requirements:

• Ear plugs, safety glasses, long pants, steel-toed shoes. Gloves, protective sleeves as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $35.00 per hour
