MHC is a well-established full-service law firm in Gastonia. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented commercial real estate paralegal to join our team! The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial real estate transactions, possess excellent organizational skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Performing forty-year title searches on subject properties and preparing appropriate and complete title abstracts for review by attorney.
• Communicating with clients, title insurance companies, lenders, and attorneys.
• Gathering tax, survey, environmental, and insurance information.
• Assist with the drafting and reviewing of easements, title opinions, deeds, lien waivers, contracts, and other closing documents.
• Recording documents with the Register of Deeds
• Preparation of loan packages, assistance with Closing, and performance of post-closing activities.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Real Estate paralegal, including searching titles.
• Familiarity with and understanding of North Carolina real estate law.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Proficient to Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Soft Pro
• Notary Public preferred
