MHC Kenworth is Hiring a Product Support Specialist - TRI Near Kansas City, KS

Transportation Resources, Inc. (TRI) is a wholesale parts distributor and a division of Murphy-Hoffman Company. As TRI continues to grow, we have an opening for a Product Support Specialist at our Leawood, Kansas location. The role of the Product Support Specialist is supporting product programs and for providing assistance to wholesale customers. Responsibilities include performing various analytical duties utilizing software and information available through the MHC business system as well as creating open communication between TRI suppliers.

  • Serves as the primary contact (with direction and involvement of the Business Development Manager/VP of Operations-Parts) for wholesale customers questions that may include, but are not limited to, program parameters, cross reference information, lead times, and technical product information.
  • Administers TRI warranty claims and continuously monitors to ensure products stay within accepted failure rates. This also includes ensuring that required failed parts are returned to suppliers and credits are issued.
  • Promotes featured products and programs by conducting scheduled phone sales calls.
  • Maintains weekly and monthly sales reports to monitor sales, warranty, and industry trends among customer base.
  • Responsible for assisting the inventory planners in communications with vendors to help maximize efficiency and accuracy while minimizing costs (freight minimums, truckloads etc.).

Qualifications

  • Work experience in inventory, purchasing or product forecasting within the heavy duty truck/automotive parts and product industry is preferred.

  • Requires strong skills in negotiation.

  • Requires excellent phone skills, interpersonal skills and written communication skills.

  • Must have exceptional organizational skills.

  • Requires excellent computer skills: proficient in Excel and Word. AS400 experience a plus.

  • Minimal travel required.
