MHC Healthcare is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our team at the MHC Main Health Center, located in the heart of Tucson, AZ. The Senior Network Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing MHC Healthcare’s network infrastructure by designing, implementing, and managing a secure, reliable, and scalable network environment that supports healthcare services and applications and complies with industry regulations.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSAssociate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field5 years’ experience in network engineeringIT experience in a healthcare environmentExperience with both CISCO Catalyst and Meraki network environmentsExperience with network security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related fieldCisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or related Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if applicable and must be directly related to the functions and body of knowledge required to successfully perform the job. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITYMay occasionally provide direction, training, or guidance to others. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESIn-depth knowledge of healthcare IT systems and requirements.Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards and other healthcare related state and federal laws and regulations.Proficiency in network protocols, routing, and switching (e.g., BGP, OSPF, VLANs).Comprehension of the interdependencies among clinical, financial, and operational systems within the network.Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.Excellent organization and time management skills with ability to manage competing demands and adapt to frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with key internal and external leaders, partners, and customers.Ability to cultivate a culture of respect and service excellence through professionalism, skilled communication, and demonstrated commitment to integrity, trust, respect, and equity.Excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills with emphasis on responsiveness, building trust, mutual respect, and courtesy.Demonstrates cultural competence and commitment to supporting and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion through work performance and professional interactions. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESDevelops and maintains the network architecture to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of critical healthcare systems.Designs and implements network solutions that support telemedicine, electronic health records (EHR), and other healthcare applications.Implements and maintains robust security measures to safeguard patient data and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.Conducts regular security assessments and vulnerability scans and responds to security incidents as necessary.Monitors network performance and proactively identifies and addresses issues to maintain optimal performance.Implements and provides input for Quality of Service (QoS) policies to prioritize healthcare applications and services.Manages and maintains routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other network equipment.Plans and executes network upgrades, expansions, and migrations.Ensures network configurations and practices comply with healthcare industry standards and regulations, including HIPAA.Maintains comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and change management records.Establishes and maintains working relationships with vendors.Shares technical expertise, provides mentorship and cross-training to other team members, and provides technical support for complex issues that are not resolvable by Help Desk.Maintains and enriches professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.BenefitsAs employees of MHC Healthcare, we share in a very strong mission: Dedication to providing Service Excellence in Promoting Health and Well Being.
