MHC Healthcare is Hiring a Recovery Coach Near Marana, AZ

MHC Healthcare is seeking a Recovery Coach to join our Behavioral Health team at our Dove Mountain Health Center, located in Tucson, AZ. The Recovery Coach provides direct behavioral health services to clients and family members including case management, group counseling, group skills training, health promotion, crisis intervention, transportation, supportive employment services, counseling (with appropriate clinical oversight), and others depending on clients’ needs. MHC Healthcare is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC), with 17 sites in Tucson and Pima County. MHC Healthcare is building a world-class integrated health care system that is committed to caring for special populations, and focused on improving health outcomes for our patients.
The following qualifications are required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Social Services field
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (may be completed with MHC upon hire)
  • First Aid certification (may be completed with MHC upon hire)
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety (or ability to obtain upon hire)
  • Current Arizona driver’s license with clean driving record and proof of current vehicle insurance (39-month MVR will be run by MHC)
The following qualifications are preferred:
  • 1 year of experience working with State AHCCCS Complete Care (ACC) and Regional Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA) clients
  • Experience with community resources and agencies
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if applicable and must be directly related to the functions and body of knowledge required to successfully perform the job.
This position has the following supervisory responsibility:
  • Does not direct or supervise others.
The ideal candidate will also possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, and communication skills with emphasis on responsiveness, building trust, mutual respect, and courtesy.
  • Computer proficient.
  • Knowledge of State ACC and RBHA requirements.
  • Thorough knowledge of current versions of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) and International Classification of Diseases (ICD).
  • Ability to complete Behavioral Health Assessments with appropriate clinical oversight.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides individualized behavioral health services to clients and families in a manner most effective based on client needs and diagnoses, including both behavioral health and medical diagnoses.
  • Provides clients and family members with quality and timely assessments, service planning, annual updates, primary care coordination, psychiatric coordination, and discharge and aftercare planning within a recovery model of care.
  • Prepares timely and accurate documentation and maintains audit-ready client charts, including:
  • Core Assessment with yearly updates,
  • Demographic Form with yearly or bi-yearly updates,
  • Service Plan with ongoing Service Plan Reviews,
  • Annual Assessment Updates,
  • Primary care coordination as appropriate, not less than annually,
  • Psychiatric Assessments with yearly updates,
  • Crisis Plans with appropriate revisions, and
  • Other forms as appropriate or requested.
  • Accommodates client schedules when providing direct services.
  • Meets productivity requirements while maintaining ethical encountering and billing practices.
  • Provides home-based and crisis intervention services as necessary or requested.
  • Provides or arranges transportation for clients as necessary.
  • Provides clients with appropriate referrals to community agencies and resources as needed or requested.
  • Works collaboratively with psychiatric staff as appropriate, ensuring clients receive appropriate medication monitoring, psychiatric evaluations, and regular primary care involvement.
  • Follows professional and ethical practices when working with clients, client records, families, and community personnel.
  • Maintains confidentiality of client and family information.
  • Promotes trust in MHC care providers while delivering excellent customer service.
  • Acts as a willing and efficient liaison between MHC Behavioral Health Services and other behavioral health agency staff, school district employees, Department of Child Safety (DCS), Department of Economic Security (DES), ACC/RBHA staff, and court employees.
  • Interacts effectively with MHC employees, ACC/RBHA/Health Plan, community members, and other agency personnel to promote trust, cooperation, and growth.
  • Observes applicable state and federal laws, assumes responsibility for knowledge of laws, and requests clarification if necessary.
  • Maintains general behavioral health and education standards and keeps abreast of behavioral health and educational trends by reading and attending in-services and workshops as indicated in staff development plan.
  • Uses appropriate incident reporting procedures when documenting unsafe or problematic incidents involving patients, clients, and staff.
