MGC is looking for a hardworking individual with a strong desire to learn to join our team. As a Permitting Technician, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring that our projects proceed smoothly and efficiently. You'll be responsible for verifying permits and requirements, preparing and submitting permit applications, maintaining open communication with permitting authorities, and managing project-related tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough research to verify permits and requirements for each jurisdiction where work is being planned.
  • Prepare accurate and comprehensive permit applications, matrices, and all other necessary paperwork.
  • Efficiently deliver and pick up permits as needed.
  • Submit permits online or in-person, demonstrating proficiency with various permitting systems.
  • Build strong relationships with permit intake personnel at each jurisdiction, fostering a collaborative working environment.
  • Request and obtain maps per OSPE request, ensuring up-to-date project information.
  • Update and manage SharePoint tasks, maintaining project organization and accessibility.
  • Address customer calls independently as needed, providing assistance and information regarding the permit process.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience in jurisdiction permitting.
  • Proficiency in Acrobat Pro and digital document editing.
  • A keen eye for detail and a passion for accuracy.
  • Familiarity with construction permitting processes and requirements.
  • Ability to handle customer calls independently, providing clear and helpful information.
  • Competence in conducting peer reviews of permit applications to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
