MGA Research is Hiring an Instrumentation Technician - Entry Level Near Burlington, WI

Instrumentation and Calibration Technician:
MGA Research is seeking a full time: entry-level technician: for a position available at the Burlington, Wisconsin location.

COMPANY BACKGROUND::
MGA Research is known as one of the leading automotive testing companies worldwide. This consists of anything from testing individual components within a vehicle to full scale vehicle crash tests. In addition to the automotive industry, MGA conducts product safety testing in the aerospace and battery industries as well as equipment fabrication.

In order to conduct these tests, MGA Research uses an array of instrumentation and test devices for data collection purposes. With support from MGA Wisconsin’s ATD and Metrology lab, this role will develop proactive internal processes and tools to manage the instrumentation and measurement tool needs of the entire MGA Wisconsin facility as well as satellite MGA facilities.

Qualifications:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Ability for small gauge soldering
    • Multimeter operation
    • Comfortable using hand tools
    • Proficient with computers
    • Passion for learning
    • Problem solving capability
    • Ability to work in a team setting with people of diverse backgrounds.
    • Demonstrate integrity, safety, and enthusiasm in their work
    • Valid driver’s license and a good driving record required
    • Authorized to work within the United States
Other Desired Skills:
    • Associated Degree in Mechanical Technology or Electronics Technology from a technical school or any combination of education experience related to mechanical systems or electronics
    • Prior experience in a calibration or metrology lab
    • Ability to read and comprehend technical documentation and follow written procedures
    • Experience with troubleshooting basic DC circuits and wiring harnesses
Responsibilities::
    • Managing internally calibrated instrumentation and measurement tools.

    • Working with external vendors to manage the calibration and repair of instrumentation and equipment

      • Badger Meter
      • NovaStar
    • Develop internal processes and tools to manage calibration schedules working with developers and leadership.
      • Instrumentation Database
      • Sharepoint Calendar
      • Written procedures
    • Develop internal processes to manage the flow of equipment in and out of the Metrology lab.
    • - Shipping and receiving - external
    • - Pick-up and delivery - internal
    • Develop an internal lab space that is efficient and organized to manage the in process calibration and maintenance process.
Further development
    • Develop Load Cell Calibration skill set
    • Develop ATD instrumentation and maintenance skill set
    • Develop DTS DataPro skill set
    • Improve and develop internal processes and equipment to reduce error and uncertainty or expand internal calibration capabilities.
