SECURITY PATROL OFFICER

Patchogue, NY

Position Vacancy

MG Security Services is seeking Security Officers to provide security services for a client with a medical facility in Patchogue, NY area. Security coverage is performed all week 8am to 4pm, 4pm to 12am & 12am to 8am WEEKENDS ARE A MUST.

*Must be able to use own vehicle to patrol the area.*

Applicants must be prepared to perform the following duties and meet the following qualifications:

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide a professional level of service to meet and exceed client expectations.
  • Monitor all security posts to ensure they are properly staffed, and the officer assigned is performing duty in accordance with uniform, behavior, and performance standards.
  • Patrol complex and proactively identify security related issues and take appropriate action to address. Make recommendations to senior management on how to develop long-term solutions to said issues.
  • Respond to incidents, conduct preliminary investigations, and make required notifications including to first responders, when appropriate.
  • Observe, monitor and personally supervise to ensure access control policies and procedures are adhered to and enforced by the security team.
  • Supervise and monitor the Command Center including the issuance of Identification Cards.
  • During an emergency, instruct assigned security personnel to guide the client’s employees, contractors, and consultants to safety.
  • Meet with management regularly to discuss any upcoming events or activities as well as discuss any security related matters or concerns.
  • Ensure all security officers are properly trained and briefed on changes to the post orders and procedures to ensure business continuity and quality of services.
  • Supervise on-site training for newly assigned security officers in addition to conducting in-service training, as required.
  • Prepare and / or review Incident Reports. Ensure appropriate, timely notifications to senior management are made for incidents. Forward copies of Incident Reports to senior management in accordance with distribution policies in place.
  • Review weekly schedules and collaborate with the MG Security corporate offices / Client Services Manager to ensure all shifts are properly staffed and overtime is effectively managed.
  • Prepare disciplinary reports as required and make recommendations accordingly.
  • Perform duty in an MG Security uniform or business attire as approved by the client and maintain said uniform to ensure a professional image

Qualifications and Skills

  • Must possess a valid Security Guard License as issued by the State of New York.
  • Maintain appropriate qualifications, certifications, and licenses as mandate by the State of New York to work as a Security Guard while employed by MG Security Services
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and climbs stairs for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to conduct interior and exterior patrols with exposure to seasonal elements
  • Must have a dependable and reliable attendance record
  • Must maintain a drug-free workplace
  • Must be customer service oriented and be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization as well as visitors and guests of the complex.
  • Ability to prepare written reports based upon incidents occurring at the property
  • Ability to make decisions with limited supervision
  • Work independently
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Supervisory experience in a corporate environment
  • Access Control and CCTV usage experience a plus
  • SOC experience preferred
