Position Summary: A Pump/Motor Technician is responsible for repairs/rebuilds on pumps, motors, valves and related hydraulic equipment. With minimal supervision, the Pump/Motor Technician evaluates the equipment, generates a parts list and labor estimate and performs timely repairs and test final assembly. System troubleshooting is often required and product knowledge is necessary for this position.

Primary Duties:

  • Performs work required to repair/rebuild pumps, motor, valves, DC power units and PTO’s.
  • Must have own tools needed to perform the tasks.
  • Develop, maintain and share excellent product knowledge.
  • Ensure that the highest level of customer service and ethics are followed.
  • Address and resolve all customer requests, complaints and objections with a positive and creative approach.
  • Provide technical resources for others in the organization.
  • Obtain and share new product knowledge.
  • Coordinate efforts with all appropriate departments and personnel to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere to strict Safety Guidelines.

Basic Requirements:

  • Previous Pump/Motor Technician experience required.
  • Rebuild experience with pumps, (piston, vane, gear, etc..) motor, valves, DC power units and PTO’s.
  • Working knowledge of diagnostic equipment and able to detect technical malfunctions.
  • Ability to read and understand hydraulic schematics.
  • Detail oriented with solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Good mechanical aptitude; along with good observation skills.
  • Understanding of the proper use of all repair tools, testing machinery and equipment.
  • Basic computer skills including use of MS Office (Word, Excel & Outlook), with a willingness to learn new software programs. Experience with Epicor Prophet 21 a plus.
  • Must be able to work with a wide variety of people and personalities.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • As MFCP is a small employer and employees work in a collaborative team environment, employee must be physically present in the office to perform his/her job functions.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. Work environment: primarily inside, workshop environment involving working at a bench or test stand in relatively close proximity to other technicians. Occasionally, the work will require working underneath or on large equipment either in the shop or directly outside the shop he physical demands, and work environment reflected, are representative of those encountered by employees when performing the essential job functions.
