About the Opportunity

OBJECTIVE:

As a Grain Merchandiser your role will be to increase net margins and volume on assigned grain(s) at MFA owned grain originating facilities. All duties should be performed in accordance with company policy.

OUR EXPECTATIONS ARE THAT YOU:

• Assemble grain selling volumes, negotiate contract terms and conditions, and provide locations with assigned grain assistance in generation of advantageous sale prices (basis)
• Corn and milo for increased company margin
• Facilitate market communication, logistics and planning for specific assigned grains
• Develop market analysis and specific marketing strategies for approval of the Director of Grain Operations
• Serve as backup to Grain Trading Manager in their absence
• Coordinate and develop special projects for Grain Division as needed by Director of Grain Operations

YOU ARE RIGHT FOR THIS ROLE IF YOU:

• Ability to quickly review and analyze numerous sources of market information in order to arrive at a specific strategy for the grain assigned
• Ability to remain calm and be able to work in a fast-paced atmosphere
• Knowledge of market (basis) patterns and the causes behind their movements within the MFA trade area
• Knowledge of basis mechanics; truck, rail, and barge freight; and how market factors impact values.
• Willingness and ability to collaborate with team members to ensure policies and practices are effective and efficient.
• Can demonstrate self-motivation, initiative, assertiveness and are results-oriented
• Can demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Products
• Can demonstrate skillful negotiating acceptable grain transactions and must be able to work closely with many parties in stressful situations

HIGHLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL BRING:

• B.S. Degree or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 3-5 years grain experience
