JOB SUMMARY

The Furniture Installer will work with the Commercial Moving team to install, disassemble, assemble, reconfigure, and inventory all types of commercial furniture. The Furniture Installer is expected to be ready, willing, and able to positively respond to direction to ensure the successful completion of the project.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Assembles and dismantles furniture as required by specifications under the direct supervision of senior personnel.
• Handles all products, new or used, safely and avoids damage or injury per company/manufacturing policies and specifications.
• Keeps tools in good working order and ensures that all tools are available as needed.
• Correctly interprets installation drawings and works on assigned tasks with minimum supervision.
• Ability to communicate installation plans and best methods with customers.
• Strong ability to read blueprints and build furniture from plans.
• Load and unload office furniture using best practices to prevent damages.
• Strong proficiency with tools, ability to level everything installed.
• Must be knowledgeable in wall mounting items, hanging pictures.
• Wide knowledge of various furniture systems.
• Perform site cleanup, remove all cartons and packaging.
• Ability to be creative and adapt to changes in plans and scope of work.
• Demonstrates positive communication skills when interacting with co-workers, supervisors/foremen, and client representatives and communicates any discrepancies, delays, or damages promptly to supervisor.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Work is carried out at the customer's location and will vary accordingly.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED
• Two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, manifests, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondences
• Valid Drivers License
