Job Overview

Meyer Njus Tanick, PA is seeking an experienced collections call agent to work in a small law office setting. Call agents are responsible for receiving incoming and making outgoing calls to consumers as part of the collections process.

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

• Contact consumers, third parties, and attorneys to negotiate repayment of consumer debts
• Maintain queue of accounts with multiple phone calls a week and other scheduled reviews
• Develop technical knowledge in the legal and collection processes to effectively communicate with consumers, third parties, and attorneys
• Maintain knowledge of and perform tasks in accordance with Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, State, and other applicable federal standards and regulations
• Record information regarding the financial status of the consumers and status of collection efforts in company’s personalized software
• Handle multiple inbound and outbound calls on a daily basis
• Perform light skip tracing duties
• Draft correspondence to consumers, third parties, and attorneys
• Be familiar with and adhere to all company and department polices & procedures
• Complete projects and tasks as assigned by Call Center Management, Attorneys, and General Manager
• Meet collection goals and productivity standards established by Call Center Management

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• At least one year of collections experience, preferably in a legal setting
• Knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and other applicable laws
• Ability to listen and empathize with consumers' situations
• Exceptional communication skills (oral and written)
• Capable of working independently and adapting to a fast-changing environment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to complete job duties with a high degree of accuracy
• Ability to work with members at all levels of the organization
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Problem solving and critical thinking
• Ability to talk and type on the phone simultaneously
• Ability to reach monthly goals set by Call Center Management
• Capable of following instruction, seeking appropriate approvals, and complying with policies and procedures
• Previous experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Able to pass a criminal background check
• High School Diploma

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
