We are seeking a motivated individual with veterinary nursing experience whopossesses excellent communication skills. They will work as a liaison between the emergency service and clinical support team, as well as with clients and referral partners, to achieve the following: facilitate client/patient flow, triage medical phone calls, coordinate client/doctor communication, perform ER visit follow-up calls and more. The type of person that will thrive in this position is someone who is able to work efficiently in a high volume, fast paced environment, as well as be adaptable andpossess excellent organizational and mutitasking skills.
This is a perfect position for a veterinary nurse who is looking to move away from direct patient care, but continue to utilize the knowledge and technical skill set that you have gained in your career, as it will be paramount to all aspects of this role.
*Experience with Emergency veterinary medicine preferred
**Experience with Cornerstone and Instinct software appreciated
The schedule we are hiring for is:Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday 12pm - 10pm
The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Sound knowledge of medical terminology, medications, and disease processes
Broad knowledge of basic small animal medicine (pharmacology and laboratory testing)
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to relate effectively with veterinarians, peers, and other hospital personnel
Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Strong ability to focus, prioritize, and multi-task in a fast paced, high stress environment
Update clients/referring veterinarians on patient status
Maintain open communication with doctor and clinical support staff
Participate in, and maintain updated patient rounds on all emergency and critical care patients
Oversee patient referrals
Coordinate patient flow between multiple specialties
Facilitate discharge appointments for emergency and critical care services
Triage messages for doctors; facilitate solutions for clients, and referring veterinarians
Receive and address patient care calls from the general public
Perform patient follow up phone calls
Oversee billing accuracy, authorizations, estimates and invoicing
Proficient computer skills
Attention to detail and a calm demeanor required
