JOB TITLE: Contract Specialist Level 1 (Contracting Services) AGENCY: Construction & Development DEPT/DIV: Contracts/Contracting Services REPORTS TO: Manager, Contracting Services WORK LOCATION: 2 Broadway HOURS OF WORK: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM or as required (7.5HR/ DAY) HAY POINTS: 333 SALARY RANGE: $63,800 to $83,737 DEADLINE: Open Until Filled Summary The Contracts Specialist Level 1 is responsible for supporting procurements related to the MTA's Capital Program. This includes supporting the award of $1B in consulting contracts each year. This is an entry-level position. Responsibilities Under the guidance of managers, provides support to the Contracting Services division to facilitate the procurement and award of consulting contracts, including requests for proposals for design, project management consultant, and staffing contracts. Creates contract files and ensures that they appropriately document the procurement and decision-making process to promote the efficient operation of the Contracts Department. Supports the Contracting Services division with researching and generating reports for MTA agency executives and staff on matters related to the MTA's Capital Program. Provide status updates on the relevant tasks and activities to senior management as required. Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, Finance, Law, Government Contracting, or a related field. Must have one (1) year of business experience, preferably with exposure to contracts and procurement activities. Competencies: Basic knowledge of general contract terminology and relevant local, state, and federal laws. Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, negotiation, and communication skills (oral and written). Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Suite and document management software.
