What we offer : · Salary : $15.00-$16.00· Group health, vision, and dental coverage at affordable rates, along with family coverage if you choose to purchase it.

Job Functions : Assists in the school age program and serves as part of the team in Pasco to plan, guide and implement after-school programming for school-aged children.

Essential Responsibilities : Ensures that school age childcare services are designed and delivered in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision, guiding values and program philosophy of Metropolitan Ministries.

Adheres to all laws of the State of Florida, et al., as they relate to the operation of licensed after school programs and to the care, safety and welfare of those served.

Maintains an attendance list for a designated group of children.Assists Education Coordinator with administrative tasks as needed.

Prepares and implements daily lesson plans for activities that meet all areas of academic / homework support, social emotional and physical growth and development.

Leads students using positive reinforcement and behavioral supports.Completes Sanctuary training for Trauma informed Care and implements those philosophies into work with children and parent.

Completes all needed training for licensing and continues with ongoing professional development.Develops positive communication with parents as to the strengths and needs of children.

Sets a positive example for all children in our programs.Actively participates in a cooperative, collaborative manner in work group teams, especially within the intake and Case Management Depts.

Plans all school age activities, evening programs, camps and non-school programs and coordinates activities under Education Coordinator’s leadership.

Ensures all records, reports and documentation are created promptly. Safeguards client confidentiality and ensures that all records are accurate and objective.

Acts as a positive ambassador for Metropolitan Ministries in the larger community.Demonstrates flexibility in work schedule to ensure that client / program needs are being met.

Assist the Education Coordinator as needed and perform any tasks assigned.Participate in Metropolitan Ministries’ holiday efforts, Bridge Builders and other fund raising events when needed.

Meet personal goals and actively contribute to the achievement if the team and organizational targets / goals as stated on the Balanced Scorecard and in the annual plan.

Keep confidential records according to the Code of Ethics. Maintain professional boundaries.Adheres to all policies of Metropolitan Ministries and / or its PEO.

Other duties as assigned.RequirementsEducation and Experience : Minimum 40 hours of childcare training. CDA / Director’s credential preferred.

  • Experience working with children required. Experience in serving families in need a plus.Skill Requirements : Must work well with children and parents;
  • must be able to work within a multi-disciplinary team framework; should be computer literate; knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel highly desirable;

ability to handle job-related matters in a professional and diplomatic manner.Physical Requirements : Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

Hearing and speaking ability, which allows for effective oral communication of information. Physical, emotional and spiritual stamina to handle job-related issues and stress.

Other : Must demonstrate legal authorization to work in the United States. Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
