We are now hiring for afull-time Case Manager I or 2 to join our Adoption Support and Preservation Team!serving Kankakee County!

 ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides a full range of case management related services. 
  • Identifies and utilizes agency and community resources. 
  • Assesses community conditions affecting clients to identify resource gaps and problems. 
  • Recommends financial assistance for clients.
  • Provides group services as indicated by program need.
  • Represents and interprets programs of agency in community.
  • Complies with agency record-keeping expectations
  • Provides individual, family, and group therapy services.
  • Provides specialized treatment services in the areas of attachment, grief, loss, and trauma.
  • Assists the Adoption Support and Preservation team with groups and events for families with new adoptions.
  • Evening hours are required
  • Main office out of Woodridge, IL
  • Meets agency expectation for quantity of direct service.
  • Joins or develops groups and coalitions to address community needs.
  • Works effectively with diverse staff and service population.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related degree from an accredited college or university required
  • Post-Bachelors experience at an intermediate skill level required.
  • Must have strong clinical skills and knowledge of family systems, child and adolescents' mental health, and adoption issues.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Main office out of Woodridge. Would need to travel to the office 1-2 times per week.
  • Requires mobility to work with a community-based caseload.
  • This position requires travel and evening hours to provide home-based services to families.
  • Must have access to a vehicle, proof of insurance and valid driver's license to perform essential job functions.
  • Ability to maintain assigned community and home-based services.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Employment with MFS requires proof of vaccination or an approved Medical exemption, required. 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • MFS staff are required to provide proof of vaccination or have an approved Medical exemption prior to starting employment. If an approved Medical is obtained, weekly testing may be required. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch.
  • The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing and viewing a computer terminal.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

SALARY:

  • Compensation is commensurate with years of related experience, position requirements, and candidate qualifications. The average salary for the position is $43,000.
