Biweekly Hours: 72.00

Shift: 1900-0730

Summary:

Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, assumes responsibility for continuous monitoring of telemetry patterns. Consistently evaluates the displayed rate/rhythm for variations or changes from previous pattern, and maintains accurate records of telemetry information. Prepares, operates, and maintains centralized telemetry equipment and/or supplies for centralized monitoring stations. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required: High School Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam. Meets one of the following: • Currently a Certified Cardiovascular Technician (CCT) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or any other approved issuing organization. • Experience in EKG reading and assessment with a focus on cardiac training. • Currently enrolled in a Cardiovascular Technician training program through an accredited institution (must complete the program within 1 year of hire). • Graduate of an Emergency Medical Technician or Medical Assistant program. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including face-to-face, phone, and email. Strong judgment, flexibility, and adaptability to change. Ability to use a computer. Scores at least 85% on a pre-employment EKG identification competency test. Preferred: None Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents.
