Required: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, science, or mathematics, in lieu of degree, any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below. 5 years’ experience in research or development and evaluation. Experience in the variety of technologies that are applicable to the project and familiarity with different types of instrumentation and equipment. Proficient in coordinating and managing a team. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Desire to improve quality of life for people with disabilities. Ability to acquire and retain current knowledge of recent advances in field of expertise to utilize this knowledge and technology in program discoveries. Ability to supervise and direct a team of experts to achieve the larger goals of the project, including assuring successful completion of milestones within budget and on-time. Ability to coordinate the activities of multiple, diverse external (industry) partners to achieve the goals of the project. Ability to use initiative and judgement in coordinating various aspects of this highly sophisticated program and in identifying and evaluating alternative approaches. Ability to prepare documentation and engage with the FDA to secure necessary regulatory approvals. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred: None.
