Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 8-4:30

Founded in 1837, Cuyahoga County’s safety-net health system operates four hospitals, four emergency departments and more than 20 health centers.

Summary:

Working under limited supervision, oversees and coordinates research projects. Develops, implements, and manages aspects of the study related to regulatory interactions with the IRB and FDA, commercial interactions with industry partners, and members of the research team including clinical and technical team members. Ensures the program operates within grant and budget standards. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of the MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, science, or mathematics, in lieu of degree, any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in addition to the experience stated below. 5 years’ experience in research or development and evaluation. Experience in the variety of technologies that are applicable to the project and familiarity with different types of instrumentation and equipment. Proficient in coordinating and managing a team. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Desire to improve quality of life for people with disabilities. Ability to acquire and retain current knowledge of recent advances in field of expertise to utilize this knowledge and technology in program discoveries. Ability to supervise and direct a team of experts to achieve the larger goals of the project, including assuring successful completion of milestones within budget and on-time. Ability to coordinate the activities of multiple, diverse external (industry) partners to achieve the goals of the project. Ability to use initiative and judgement in coordinating various aspects of this highly sophisticated program and in identifying and evaluating alternative approaches. Ability to prepare documentation and engage with the FDA to secure necessary regulatory approvals. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred: None. Physical Demands: May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating. May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to read job related documents. Ability to use computer. Work is generally performed in the laboratory environment where exposure to chemicals is infrequent.
