METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER is Hiring an Information Systems/image Specialist Radiology/ PACS Support Near Cleveland, OH

S ummary:
Supports clinical and imaging computer systems within Radiology services. Participates in the design, configuration, build and maintenance of the PACS and clinical imaging applications. Contributes to system build, configuration, updating, testing, validation of moderately complex imaging related systems. Uses expertise and informatics knowledge to determine clinical functions that are suitable for computer applications and ensures Information Systems are consistent with professional standards of clinical practice. Participates in required change control processes and adheres to all systems policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
1. Responds, troubleshoots, and resolves imaging system-related issue requests from the department and institution by:
a. Maintaining issues logs and troubleshooting guides.
b. Documenting issue resolution and providing feedback to users on how to avoid consistent errors.
c. Escalating issues to management with potential solutions.
d. Performing analysis of imaging workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues.
e. Working with departments to understand reporting needs.
f. Monitoring systems as necessary using available methods.
g. Providing innovative ways to improve the efficiency of processes, workflows, and software.
2. Participates in the installation, configuration, updating, testing, validating, and ongoing support of moderately complex imaging-related systems by:
a. Coordinating software updates and changes.
b. Ensuring the data coming across systems interfaces meets the business need.
c. Creating and preparing basic scripts to aid in the support of the maintenance systems.
d. Documenting technical processes and workflows.
e. Collaborating with IS Architects to create and maintain technical architecture documentation
3. Works with subject matter experts and vendors to expand understanding and competence with computer systems that support day to day radiology clinical and imaging operations.
4. Assess and understands the downstream impact of changes in systems and technology. Document’s business processes, technical requirements, and imaging and data workflows. Assist in the design, writing and preparation of user documentation and training materials. Assist with the development of training standards and objectives and conducts training as needed.
5. Manages less complex medical imaging projects while creating and maintaining project plans to ensure timely completion of projects. Sets project task goals, milestones, and prioritizes goals.
6. Communicates to stakeholders any downtime, upgrades, and changes to workflow. Works with departmental management staff to ensure minimal disruption to operation.
7. Creates reports using SQL and Crystal to support business needs.
8. Listens to business needs expressed by customers, documents, and executes business and clinical solutions. Conducts meetings with customers. Makes routine rounds in operational area(s), understanding daily work issues by interactions with staff on the floor, identifies business needs and offers solutions based on current and future technologies
9. Supports the revisions and optimization of Information systems using appropriate methods and processes for support of quality patient care. Applies research of current healthcare trends to system analysis. Participates in process improvement initiatives and measurement. Adheres to policies, procedures, and standards to meet all regulatory requirements, as well as currently accepted legal standards.
10. Displays sensitivity to and understanding of various cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Qualifications:
Associates Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or RT or ARDMS Certification or equivalent combination of education and related recent work experience.
3 years of experience working with RIS and PACS systems and digital diagnostic imaging modalities.
Detailed knowledge of Radiology departmental operations including patient flow, all radiologic examinations, scheduling of patients and radiologic procedures, diagnostic reporting policies and procedures, and PACS policies and procedures
Strong Personal Computer skills and knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office, Excel, Crystal Reports, SQL.
An analytical aptitude and ability to translate functional needs to computerized environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science
Possesses certification as a Certified imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP)
Experience with DICOM and Non-DICOM storage
Physical Demands:
May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day.
May need to sit or stand for extended periods.
See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
Ability to read job related documents.
Ability to use computer.
