Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: M-F 7a-4:30p

Summary:

Primary responsibility is to ensure nursing/patient care and effective functioning of regional peri-operative services and Central Sterile Processing Department. Combines clinical and administrative skills in the management of patient care, human resources, and fiscal matters for the department. Assures culturally sensitive, high quality patient care in accordance with evidence-based practice, current research, the ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice, the ANA Code of Ethics, and AORN's Guidelines for Perioperative Practice. Develops collaborative relationships with community leaders and community centers to promote MHS service offerings. Develops plans for the expansion, relocation and remodeling of current and new facilities. Works in a triad model with the Chair of Anesthesiology and Regional Director of Perioperative Services to promote operational efficiency and oversight. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required:

Graduate of an approved program of nursing and currently licensed to practice professional nursing in the State of Ohio

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

Master’s Degree in a health-related field. Certification in clinical specialty or in nursing administration.

Five years of progressively responsible nursing and management experience/administrative.

Excellent interpersonal skills along with experience in working with multi-disciplinary groups.

Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Skill in budgeting, cost analysis, workforce planning, supervision, and operational analysis.

Demonstrated evidence of continuing professional self-development.

Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Preferred:

Master’s Degree in Nursing or Health related field

Experience with the operation of health care computer systems.

Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently during the day. May sit or stand for extended periods of time. Ability to use computer. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to read job-related documents.
