Position Summary
The maintenance technician I organizes, implements, and conducts maintenance at Metro Waste Authority Material Recycling Facility in a safe manner to maximize efficiency in operations. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for rolling and stationary equipment as well as site and building maintenance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, pushing and pulling of objects weighing up to 600 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate. Frequently stands, walks, or drives for extended periods of time.
Work Environment
This job is frequently required to perform work outdoors year-round with exposures to weather conditions prevalent at the time. This role will routinely be exposed to vibration and loud background noise and will frequently be exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; work in high, precarious places; risk of electric shock; and extreme heat (non-weather), Occasional non-regular work hours, which may include nights and weekends.
