- Experience with Microsoft platform, event management software, and accounting software
- Experience with budgets and contracts
- 5 years of sales experience
- 3 years of professional administrative experience

- Provides a variety of menu options for catering to internal and external customers.
- Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
- Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continuous improvements in services to customers.
- Evaluates food selections, equipment, furniture, and supplies to be used in conference spaces.
- Prepares catering schedules for customers and coordinates meal presentation.
- Coordinates orders between caterers and conference services for catered events.
- Verifies that actual food preparation meets client specifications.
- Visually observes facilities prior to scheduled events to ensure all standard and/or special set-ups and specifications have been completed.
- Orders and inventories food items for catering functions as needed.
- Prepares and submits reports and other documents in an accurate and timely manner.
- Monitors catering budgets to ensure proper use of funds.
- Attends administrative staff meetings and professional meetings.
- Attends work regularly following a designated work schedule. Must be able to work extended hours and additional days/evenings as required by position responsibilities.
- Reacts to change productively and handles related tasks as assigned.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Great attention to detail
- Knowledge of budgeting (includes profit/loss, budget preparation, revenue data monitoring, and vendor contracts/licenses)
- Knowledge of County/State/Federal health and safety codes and regulations pertaining to commercial food service operations
- Ability to multi-task and pivot between and among events
- Ability to work under pressure, meet short deadlines, and handle numerous tasks at one time.
- Ability to set priorities, plan, and coordinate well with others

Benefits:
Metro Technology Centers is accepting applications for a Hositality Specialist. The Hospitality Specialist manages the coordination of catering for Conference Services with Culinary Arts and external authorized caterers, assists in the supervision of food and table placement for partners and customers, and enters all catering details into the Event Management System to provide order information to caterers. To accomplish these tasks, the Hospitality Specialist must work closely with the Culinary Arts faculty, authorized caterers, and conference services staff at District Center.
