Reporting directly to the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Assistant Provost for Academic Effectiveness will utilize a data–informed approach to providing vision, leadership, and administrative oversight to Academic Affairs, with the intended outcome of enhancing student success. This position will focus on accreditation, assessment of student learning, academic innovation, academic partnerships, and academic planning. The Assistant Provost will advise the Provost on academic matters and work collaboratively with administrators, faculty, and staff to achieve university– level and academic affairs objectives. Additionally, the Assistant Provost will serve as the University liaison to the Higher Learning Commission and provide leadership for institutional and program–specific accreditation activities.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the university to achieve academic effectiveness goals.
  • Provide leadership for Accreditation Activities, including serving as the Accreditation Liaison Officer to the Higher Learning Commission.
  • Provide leadership for Assessment of Student Learning and Academic Program Review.
  • Contribute to and/or provide leadership for Academic Quality, Policies, and Procedures.
Required Qualifications
Minimum Position Qualifications:
The following qualifications are required of all applicants seeking consideration for this position. Only applicants whose application materials clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for the position:
  • Master’s degree.
  • Five years of leadership experience (Director, Department Chair, Associate Dean, etc.) in Academic Affairs in a higher education setting.
  • Three years of supervisory experience in a higher education setting.
  • Proven expertise planning and implementing strategic initiatives.
  • Proven expertise with data collection, data analysis, and clear communication of outcomes to broad audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience developing materials and facilitating campus activities to acquire or maintain regional institutional accreditation.
  • Demonstrated contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in past work or volunteer experiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Earned terminal degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Demonstrated expertise using data to informed decision–making and develop continuous quality improvement initiatives in a higher education setting.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a liaison to a regional accrediting body.

Physical Requirements of the Job:
Light: Requires occasionally transporting such articles as file boxes and heavy hand tools or heavier materials with help from others and/or transporting light objects frequently. The position may require movement throughout building(s) to a significant degree.
