Metrea Management is Hiring a Manager Aviation Supply Chain and Purchasing Near Tampa, FL

 

Position Summary 

The Manager, Aviation Supply Chain & Purchasing will oversee all facets of our logistical operations, including the management of purchasing, part supply & tool room, shipping & receiving, and facilities operations. The role is critical in ensuring the availability and smooth movement of parts, tooling, GSE, and materials essential to our aviation operations. The is a mid-career management role requiring extensive experience in procurement of aviation related parts, supplies, proper handling and storage as required by FAR 145 for a repair station, coupled with exceptional leadership and strategic planning skills.

Metrea Executive Aviation (MXA) has established itself as a versatile force in the business aviation industry, offering an array of specialized services. It operates four business units across the spectrum of business aviation. Providing Part 135 Charter, Aircraft Management, Part 145 Repair Services, and Fixed Based Operations (FBO). Operating as a subsidiary of Metrea, a defense company with a mission to harness commercial innovation for national security challenges. MXA This multi-faceted approach allows MXA to deliver value-enhancing core services while simultaneously evolving to augment enterprise capabilities, fully aligned with Metrea's strategic vision of delivering effects-as-a-service across multiple domains.

Metrea Enterprise Overview

Metrea is a defense company dedicated to translating commercial innovation into solutions for the hardest problems in national security. With deep mission expertise, Metrea focuses on delivering effects as-a-service across a spectrum of domains including Air, Space, Electromagnetic & Cyber, and Simulation. Metrea Management provides central services to 12 global business units via Operations, Solutions, Strategy, Legal, and Finance teams. 

Essential Functions 

  • Strategic Planning: Works closely with operational leadership to develop and execute comprehensive strategies aligned with the company's objectives, considering the diverse needs of purchasing, facilities, tool room, shipping & receiving, and storage of parts. Anticipate purchasing & supply challenges and devise proactive solutions to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness across all disciplines.
  • Supply Chain Management: Oversee the end-to-end supply chain process, including procurement, transportation, inventory management, vendor quality programs, and distribution. Collaborate closely with Maintenance, Purchasing, and Supply teams to optimize inventory levels, minimize stockouts, and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a multifaceted team of logistics professionals across purchasing, facilities, tool room, shipping & receiving, and parts storage. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement to drive operational excellence within each team.
  • Performance Optimization: Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of inventory processes within each department, with a focus on driving efficient inventory management, stock requirements, order management, and customer service levels. Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement initiatives to enhance performance, reduce costs, and increase operational reliability.
  • Vendor Management: Establish and nurture strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, freight forwarders, and other external partners. Negotiate contracts and service agreements to secure favorable terms and ensure reliable service delivery across all areas of supply.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in the inventory network, including purchasing, facilities management, tool room operations, shipping & receiving, and parts storage. Develop and implement robust risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimize disruptions and ensure business continuity.

  • Problem Solving: Demonstrate the ability to identify and address inventory issues efficiently, minimizing disruptions to operations.
  • Communication Skills: Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure clear understanding of inventory requirements and objectives.
  • Data Analysis: Utilize data analysis tools to analyze inventory performance metrics and make data-driven decisions.
  • Project Management: Proficient in managing inventory related projects to ensure timely and successful implementation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the inventory management functions, encouraging innovation and optimization.
  • Conflict Resolution: Demonstrate strong conflict resolution skills to address issues among team members and stakeholders.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing business needs, market conditions, and regulatory requirements, ensuring flexibility and resilience in logistical operations

Supervisory ResponsibilityThis role has supervisory responsibilities. Oversees a department of approximately 15 people. 

Work Environment
This job operates primarily in clerical, office settings, but oversees a department in non-clerical settings. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and may be expected to be in warehouse, aviation hangars, supply rooms, tools rooms, etc.

Physical DemandsThis is a largely sedentary role; however, some physical abilities will be required.

Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require.

Required Education, Experience and Certificates
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or 8 years of relevant Aviation Purchasing & Supply experience

Experience: 5 years of Aviation Purchasing, Inventory and Supply management.

Certificates and Licenses: Valid Driver’s License

Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Education, Experience and CertificatesEducation: Master’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management

Experience: 5 Years of aviation related supply, purchasing and inventory management experience 

Computer Skills: Corridor, Flight Docs, Flight Department, MS D365 Additional Eligibility QualificationsMust be able to accomplish all duties with little or no assistance.Must have good command of the English language; oral and written. Work Authorization/Security ClearanceEmployee must be able to work legally in the US citizen.
