MetOx International, Inc is Hiring a Buyer 1 Near Houston, TX

Job Title: Buyer 1

Work Location: Houston, TX

Work Arrangement: In Office

Reports To: Supply Chain & Logistics Manager

Level: Individual Contributor

Direct Reports: N/A

FLSA Status: Exempt

Bonus Program: N/A

Summary: The Buyer performs a wide variety of activities to support inventory management in a warehouse setting along with assisting in managing supply chain and logistics activities in a manufacturing company.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management

Receives inventory, both physically and into a computer system.
Maintains correct bin locations for items.
Picks inventory for work orders.
Cycle counting inventory.
Tracks and records inventory movements.
Ships finished goods inventory.
Works with Purchasing and Accounting on 3-way matching of transactions.
Maintains a clean work environment.
Processes purchase orders as needed.
Uses various equipment including forklifts and moveable ladders to complete daily tasks.

Sourcing and Vendor Management

Research, select and purchase quality products and materials.
Identify potential suppliers and negotiate with them for the best terms.
Process requisitions and update management on status of orders.
Update inventory and ensure that stock levels are kept at appropriate levels.
Arrange transport of goods and track order to ensure timely delivery.
Analyze market trends and apply the knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain or relevant field
0-2 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior ERP experience, NetSuite is a plus.
Prior logistics, shipping, receiving, and/or storeroom management experience.
Lean manufacturing experience, Kanban systems, supermarkets, material handling and just in time replenishment.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

High degree of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
Strong organizational and time management skills, varied workload.
Proficiency in office software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Outstanding analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
Critical thinking and negotiation skills.
