Your Role

Mechanic Supervision

• Lead and manage a team of mechanics responsible for the maintenance and repair of construction equipment, vehicles, and machinery
• Schedule and prioritize equipment repairs and maintenance to minimize downtime
• Ensure that all repairs are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner
• Manage inventory of spare parts and supplies for equipment maintenance
• Monitor and evaluate the performance of mechanics, providing feedback and training as needed
• Maintain records of equipment maintenance and repair history

Yard Management

• Oversee the organization and cleanliness of the equipment yard
• Ensure all equipment is properly stored, secured, and maintained
• Implement safety protocols in the yard to prevent accidents and injuries

Small Tools and Consumables

• Repair and maintenance of small tools

Truck Driver Supervision

• Supervise a team of truck drivers responsible for transporting materials and equipment to and from job sites
• Schedule driver shifts and routes to optimize efficiency
• Ensure drivers comply with safety regulations and traffic laws
• Monitor and report on vehicle maintenance and repair needs
• Coordinate with project managers to meet transportation requirements

Safety and Compliance

• Enforce safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all team members
• Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for mechanics and truck drivers
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry and department of transportation standards

Budget Management

• Assist in budget planning and control for equipment maintenance and repairs
• Monitor expenses and seek cost-effective solutions for repairs and maintenance
• Assist fleet director with forecasting equipment needs

Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections
• Generate monthly invoices to project
• Generate reports on equipment status, maintenance costs, and operational efficiency
• Communicate regularly with the Operations Resource Supervisor regarding equipment and personnel performance
• Track equipment locations on jobsite

What You Bring to the Team

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Extensive experience with heavy equipment
• Proven experience in construction equipment maintenance and repair
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards
• Effective communication skills
• Proficient computer skills for record keeping and reporting
• Commercial driver's license (CDL) may be required depending on the scope of truck driver supervision
