Ability to give instructions and apply basic management principles.
Effective communicate skills to work with all levels of Associates, management, physicians, and patients and their families.
Ability to prepare and understand moderately complex written materials, such as management reports.

Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects and maintain control of own/other's work flow.
Ability to train and mentor staff on delivery of excellent customer service principles and practices.
Ability to interact professionally and courteously with staff, management and the general public.
Supervises Environmental services staff in performing daily activities and tasks that supports the operations of the department within the MLH system.
Schedules work assignments and plan work schedules of associates to maintain consistent and adequate coverage of the department.
Develops and implements processes through orientation, training, and education to ensure that the competence of all staff members is assessed maintained, improved and demonstrated throughout their employment.
Evaluates job performance, ensures competency of staff, and recommends various personnel actions including hiring, promotions, and corrective actions.
Assists management with monitoring productivity, budgets, and expenditures.
Maintains department-based quality monitoring and evaluation activities and implements measures to ensure that hospital, quality and regulatory standards are met.
Actively contributes to the strategic planning and achievement of departmental goals and objectives.
Monitors time and attendance records and overtime related to the staff.
Monitors and coordinates the maintenance of various files, logs and records ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
Provides advanced problem solving, troubleshooting, technical assistance, and instruction.
Handles and reviews customer comments, complaints and concerns to determine that hospital guests’ expectations are met.
The physical activities of this position may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
Must have good balance and coordination.
The physical requirements of this position are: heavy work - exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently.
The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
The Associate may be required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services, general laborer, etc.) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspection, etc.).
