Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Neonatal Nutrition Technician, you will assist with the preparation and delivery of all infant feedings in a professional and efficient manner. You will provide appropriate stock items to patient care areas and insures milk storage standards are met. You will obtain and communicate pertinent dietary needs of patients through nursing/staff interaction. You will perform essential job functions independently, with minimal supervision, within established parameters and adhere to all regulatory standards related to position.

What you will do in this role:

  • As a Neonatal Nutrition Technician you will perform infant diet functions including, but not limited to, preparing infant feedings using aseptic technique and all policies/procures developed for the operation of the infant feeding preparation room, checking diet orders for compliance with policy/procedure and essential elements for patient orders, ordering and maintaining adequate supplies to meet patient needs, checking temperature recordings on refrigeration equipment, and checking and disposing of all outdated products per unit policy.
  • You will demonstrate a clear understanding of the importance of time sensitive aspects of infant diet operations.
  • You will provide optimum service to patients, families, and caregivers without compromising dietary restrictions of production demands.
  • You will demonstrate a willingness to cross train and work in other areas of the department as needed and assigned.
  • You will demonstrate a high degree of accuracy in the performance of routine and assigned duties.
  • You will understand infant diet preparation and resources for non-typical infant diet.

What qualifications you will need:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Food Service preferred
  • Completion of a food safety course preferred
