Description
Metcalf Archaeological Consultants, Inc. is accepting applications for Crew Chiefs on several projects located primarily in Montana and North Dakota, though there may be some fieldwork in Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming as well. Work for this position is expected to start with the field season in April or May. Crew Chiefs perform field work and other tasks under the direction of a Project Manager or Project Director, usually supervising a small field crew and conducting surveys, testing, and data recovery excavations. Laboratory and office tasks may also be assigned as necessary.
These are full-time, hourly positions. Projects may require extended field time, typically on a 9 days on, 5 days off schedule, although schedules will vary from project to project. Per-diem (typically $55 per day) and lodging are provided for all project work requiring overnight stays away from your home office. The pay rate will be $21 - $24 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. Hours worked in excess of 40 per week are paid at an overtime rate of time and a half.
