Metals USA is Hiring a Steel Material Handler/Overhead Crane Operator (FT) Near Westwego, LA

Metals USA has an immediate opening for a Steel Material Handler/Overhead Crane Operator in the Waggaman, LA location.
The Steel Material Handler/Overhead Crane Operator performs duties related to the storage and movement of inventory or equipment.

Receives, places/returns items into stock inventory locations.
Tags materials for proper identification.
Pulls and assembles customer orders in order of delivery.
Operates yard truck for the purpose of loading and unloading trailers.
Operates crane and forklift to load/unload trailers.
Secures loaded material onto truck and may load and unload materials.
Completes and documents production and quality paperwork; follow shop system data collection procedures.
Maintains work areas in a clean, orderly and safe manner, including the return of tools and equipment to designated areas.
Assures all machine operation centers are timely loaded with material.
Notifies management of product discrepancies, equipment malfunctions and/or personal injuries.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

High School Graduate or equivalent.
Minimum 18 years of age.
Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions.
Proficient measuring skills and the ability to read measuring tapes, micrometers, and calipers.
Six months or more overhead crane/forklift experience required.
