Metallix Refining is Hiring a Laboratory Analyst Near Greenville, NC

We have an opening for an Inorganic Lab Analyst in Greenville, North Carolina.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Preparation of ICP standards and blanks from stock solutions.
  • Accurately prepare samples and conduct standard chemical analysis.
  • Perform proper digestion and sample preparation techniques.
  • Prepare and run samples on the ICP with minimal supervision.
  • Interpret preliminary data and test results.
  • Operate laboratory equipment and instruments appropriately.
  • Clean and maintain laboratory equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

RCRA: This position will require interaction with hazardous waste. Metallix promotes a culture of safety and is committed to taking all steps necessary to ensure a safe and healthy working environment. This position requires that the following duties be carried out in accordance with state and federal safety requirements and related Metallix policies:

  • Handle hazardous waste at Satellite Accumulation Areas;
  • Label hazardous waste;
  • Transport hazardous waste to Central Accumulation Area;
  • Inspect hazardous waste containers;
  • Handle universal waste; and
  • Participate in annual RCRA hazardous waste training.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Schedule: The employees assigned shift will be annotated in the ADP Payroll System. Employees may be required to work any shift, including evening, weekend or holiday shifts, as needed by the Company. Any modifications to the employee's schedule will be communicated by the Manager. This is a full-time position, but some overtime work may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Be a “U.S. person” pursuant to section 120.15 of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
  • Degree in Biology or Chemistry with industrial, research lab or inorganic lab experience is required.
  • Must possess acute understanding of the general laboratory process and procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work effectively with high volumes and meet short deadlines.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and mandatory department overtime as needed. Knowledge of health and safety programs in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
