Overview

This is a great opportunity for someone who has worked in sheet metal manufacturing and fabrication (welding, brake press operation, quality technician, etc) and is interested in a position in engineering or engineering related project management.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, a Project Engineer will support OEM contract manufacturing. This position is responsible for releasing engineering documentation that will meet or exceed the customer’s designed expectations. This includes working with our teams and customer teams to complete a simplified drawing package to allow our operation teams to be successful. This position also includes project management activities to ensure projects get into production with minimal problems. The design of fabricated and mechanical assemblies plus validation of these designs can be a part of this position for candidates interested in additional responsibilities.

  • Manage 3D models and drawings for new or changing OEM products within agriculture, construction, industrial, and military industries.
  • Take full ownership of your engineering documents (drawings, models, BOM’s, and shop routings) related to assigned projects.
  • Collaborate design changes and assist customers with design for manufacturability opportunities.
  • Provide technical support and coordinate project management activities with internal departments including: tooling, quality, purchasing, production planning, sales, production personnel, and shipping.
  • Design of fabrications to support light construction equipment or our truck bodies. Includes design from cradle to the grave: design investigation, modeling, detailing, design documentation, design validation including finite element analysis reviews or testing, and releasing for production.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     • Strong communication and project management skills.
    • Able to problem solve and think analytically.
    • Experience with metal fabrications is preferred.
    • Able to operate on own initiative but also contribute as a team member working within Engineering and other cross functional teams.
    • Exceptional organizational skills and high attention to details.
    • Experienced user of Microsoft Office products.
    • Exposure to 3D CAD programs.
    • Associate Degree in Engineering or a minimum 2 years of manufacturing experience.
    • Recent graduates encouraged to apply.
