Summary:

Metal Sales is the nation's largest manufacturer of metal roofing and building systems with 21 locations across America. Our Temple branch located in Temple, TX has an opening for a Shipping 2nd Shift Loading Supervisor.

Regular hours for this position are Monday through Friday, starting at 3:00PM until all trucks loaded. This is a hourly position, overtime including working on weekends may be required.

The primary focus of this position is to oversee day to day shipping and packing processes in the branch. Success in this role guarantees our customers receive the right product, without damage, and the shipping processes are conducted in a safe working environment.

You'll be responsible for (but not limited to):

• Coordinating and controlling all aspects of the shipping area which may also include packaging operations
• Directly supervising shipping personnel; supporting responsibilities include staffing, training, performance and time tracking, coaching, and evaluations to develop and improve the team
• Helping to maintain quality and accurate inventory control with strict attention to detail
• Ensuring supply levels for packaging material is adequate
• Ensuring loading process of both commercial and Metal Sales trucking is safe, damage-free, and in compliance with DOT guidelines
• Helping to resolve inventory and customer inquiries through research and cycle counts
• Assisting with other responsibilities and department needs as warranted

The most qualified candidates will have:

• At least 2 years' experience in shipping/distribution environment; manufacturing experience strongly preferred
• Successful experience directly and/or indirectly leading a team of shipping and packaging personnel
• Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
• Solid computer skills including, but not limited to, Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• A strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to effectively multi-task
• Effective and proactive communication skills, both verbal and written
• High School Diploma or equivalent
