Job Overview:

Product Designer:

Seeking a motivated, highly inventive person to design and create for our customer base. The right candidate will have a mind towards innovation, problem solving and will be an integral part in converting customer/sales ideas into a variety of product designs for presentation to the customer.

Essential Job Functions

• Developing effective and feasible product concepts from customer and/or sales ideas.

• Presenting product designs in a manner that clearly represents the product design esthetic and function.

• Documentation of the design in electronic form with precise product numbers and revision levels.

• Effectively communicate with internal & external customers on customer requirements, schedule, artwork, and proposed manufacturing methods.

• Continuing research of industry leaders and major customers to gain knowledge of current industry trends.

• Assist in the development of skills & knowledge of all Metal Dynamics personnel.

• Assist in the creation of "hand samples" of products for customer presentation.

Requirements

• Knowledge of manufacturing methods used in product designs.

• Performs job function in a team environment.

• Willingness to learn new skills on an as needed basis.

Other Skills/Abilities

• Knowledge of SOLIDWORKS, ZBRUSH, and/or Rhino 3D CAD programs

• Knowledge of 2D CAD Software, Adobe Illustrator

• Knowledge of Photoshop program

• Knowledge of MS Office programs

• Prefer BS in Industrial Design
