Meta is Hiring a Stakeholder Engagement Manager, Policy Development Near Washington, DC

Meta seeks a highly skilled and experienced Stakeholder Engagement Manager to join our Content Policy Stakeholder Engagement team. As a Stakeholder Engagement Manager, you will be responsible for building and strengthening relationships with external stakeholders globally, focused explicitly on informing and engaging around our content policies. This involves working closely with NGOs, human rights experts, academics, and other thought leaders to bring global knowledge and feedback into the policy development process. The ideal candidate for this role will be an execution-minded professional who can think strategically, adapt quickly, work independently, and function in a fast-paced environment with often shifting priorities. They should be able to analyze complex information and develop effective engagement strategies. Intellectual curiosity is also highly valued in this position.

Stakeholder Engagement Manager, Policy Development Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute stakeholder engagement plans to support the development of content policies that reflect the needs and concerns of diverse communities around the world.
  • Identify key external stakeholders and strategic opportunities for engagement to develop policies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders, including civil society organizations, academics, and industry experts in critical content policy areas and seek opportunities to develop collaborative partnerships with them.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure stakeholder feedback is incorporated into policy development processes.
  • Monitor and analyze trends in stakeholder sentiment, providing insights to inform policy development decisions.
  • Develop and deliver presentations and other communications materials to effectively convey policy positions to external audiences.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Content Policy team to improve our policies based on external expertise and input.
  • Represent the company at external events, conferences, and other external engagements.
  • Some international travel and meetings outside standard business hours will be required

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5 years of experience in stakeholder engagement, policy development, public policy or a related field
  • Bachelor's degree in public policy, security studies, political science, international relations, law, business, human rights, tech policy, information sciences or a related field.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Creative problem-solving, analytical thinking, negotiation, and multi-tasking skills in time-sensitive settings.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills and experience communicating nuanced concepts and policy positions to various audiences.
  • Experience in leading the design and delivery of stakeholder engagement strategies.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree or equivalent advanced degree in public policy, security studies, political science, international relations, law, business, human rights, tech policy, information sciences or a related field.
  • Professional experience in the field of human rights or civil rights.
  • Knowledge of Meta products and principles.
